Yoga for Golf with Ling Hanson
Saturday, April 18
3-5pm

Success in golf requires physical strength, endurance and mental clarity. The practice of yoga offers postures that will build flexibility and power throughout the upper body while increasing balance and energy in the legs. Yoga also offers breathing techniques and tools for meditation that help golfers quiet the mind and build confidence. At this workshop, you will develop new yoga skills that will lead to lower golf scores and more fun on the course.

Why am I not losing Weight?

Sunshine and water are requirements for a garden to grow, just as diet and exercise are necessary for weight loss. But your garden won't grow if the soil is unhealthy and, if your body is unhealthy, weight loss won't happen. This class explores four ways your body may not be allowing you to lose weight.

Benefits of Barre

It may look like ballet, but it's not. Barre-based classes incorporate movements from a variety of disciplines such as ballet, Pilates and yoga. Here are 10 reasons to try a barre workout!

Hard on muscles, kind on joints.
By doing barre regularly, you'll also notice a remarkable improvement in your core strength and posture.

No experience required.
Everyone has different starting points, strengths and challenges and instructors recognize that.

Be worked from head to toe.
After each satisfyingly exhausting class, your entire body will truly feel WORKED.

Work muscles to failure.
Barre's tiny motions, many reps, intentional squeezes and pulses are designed to fatigue muscles to failure.

Modifications for every age and level.
The beauty of barre classes is that everyone works with small movements and can limit or expand their range of motion to suit their specific needs.

Increased flexibility.
Through focused stretching, an improved range-of-motion is one of the greatest benefits of barre exercise.

Never boring; always fun.
You’ll find that the time spent in class passes very quickly.

Lost weight and inches.
Many of the workouts target the largest muscle groups in the body, like the thighs and glutes. The larger the muscle, the more calories burned!

Greater range of motion & endurance.
Barre classes target the core muscle groups that are neglected in conventional strength training, in a variety of interesting ways.

Rapid results.
Yes, you will be sore after the first few classes, but you’ll also see some major results in little time – so stick with it! If you perform a barre workout 2-4 times weekly, you will typically notice changes in as little as one month.
